Fort Collins, Colorado, November 23, 2005—Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) today announced the election of Trung T. Doan, 47, to its Board of Directors. Mr. Doan previously served as a director of Advanced Energy’s Board from July 2000 until January 2004. In September 2003, Mr. Doan began a position as Corporate Vice President, Applied Global Services at Applied Materials, Advanced Energy’s largest customer.

Mr. Doan currently serves as chairman and chief executive officer of SemiLEDs Corporation, a manufacturer of high brightness light emitting diodes (LEDs) for commercial lighting applications. His career experience spans over 20 years in the semiconductor and high-technology industries. Mr. Doan was Vice President of Process Development from 1997 to 2003 at Micron Technology, Inc., which he joined in 1988 serving a variety of management and executive positions. During 2003, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Jusung Engineering, a semiconductor/LCD equipment company based in Korea. Mr. Doan also held positions at Honeywell and Intel prior to joining Micron.
