Fort Collins, Colorado (November 30, 2000)—Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) today announced it has entered into a Strategic Investment Agreement with privately-held company, Dressler^® HF Technik GmbH. Based in Stolberg, Germany, Dressler is a supplier of RF power solutions for plasma- based applications. The Agreement provides for an initial investment by Advanced Energy in Dressler with an option for Advanced Energy to make additional investments.

"Dressler's strong RF technology portfolio and highly specialized product family will further AE's presence in the semiconductor capital equipment, laser and medical technology markets by enhancing our current product offering," said Doug Schatz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Energy. "The combination will add another dimension to our global infrastructure and will enable us to respond more quickly to our European customers with customized solutions and local manufacturing," said Mr. Schatz.
