Fort Collins, Colorado (December 10, 1999) – Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq NM: AEIS) has named Kim Seon Woo President of Advanced Energy Industries Korea, Ltd. In announcing the new appointment, Chris Near, Director of Asian Operations, said, “Mr. Kim has an unending sense of duty to the customer and has built a group which is dedicated to his vision. We are very pleased that he has agreed to accept this new responsibility and look forward to his continued support of our critical business partners in Korea.”

Mr. Near also noted that Mr. Kim has been an influential technology leader in the Korean semiconductor market over the last 15 years and was the primary force in the successful opening of the direct operation in Korea in January of 1999. Throughout his career, Mr. Kim has supported service and technical programs at Varian Korea, Applied Kamatsu Korea, and most recently with Advanced Energy. Mr. Kim has been with Advanced Energy since 1996—first with RF Power Products, Inc. (RFPP) and later with Advanced Energy which purchased RFPP in 1998.
